How We Think About What We Sell

The Table of Contents exists as a small, intentional alternative to bulk retail culture.

We choose small makers over mass production. When it comes to the themed "sealed & considered" books, the accessories come from many sources, all selected to match the book. Therefore no two are the same.

Condition of Books

All pre-owned books are inspected and listed in excellent or very good condition unless otherwise noted (if not excellent, we price accordingly). Because these books have lived a previous life, minor signs of handling may be present. We see that as part of their story.

If a book arrives damaged in transit, please see below.

Shipping

Orders are packed thoughtfully and shipped within 7 business days.

Books and bulky items ship via USPS Priority Mail and are insured for their full purchase value. Order that are just flat stickers will be USPS First Class Mail.

You will receive tracking information once your order ships.

Damage in Transit

If your order arrives damaged, please contact us within 7 days of delivery and include clear photos of:

The packaging
The shipping label
The item itself

We will initiate a USPS insurance claim and issue a refund for the purchase price once the claim process begins.

Postal systems are imperfect but we’ll make it right.

Lost Packages

However, if tracking shows a package as delivered, then we are unable to replace or refund it.

If your package is marked delivered but you cannot locate it, we recommend:

Checking with neighbors
Checking around your delivery area
Contacting your local post office
If all else fails, USPS Find Missing Mail

Once a package is marked delivered, it is considered fulfilled on our end.

Returns, Exchanges & Cancellations

Because most items are pre-owned and curated in limited quantity, we do not accept returns, exchanges, or cancellations.

Books You Already Own

If you purchase a "sealed & considered" book and realize you already have a copy in your personal collection, we are unable to accept returns, refunds, or exchanges.

(Take some small solace - it means you have excellent taste in books.)

We encourage you to regift it, donate it, or pass it along. Let books be a gifting love language.
